The Saltire Society is an inclusive, apolitical members’ organisation founded in Edinburgh
in 1936 with a mission to ‘improve the quality
of life in Scotland’ and promote Scottish culture and heritage. The Society has branches located throughout Scotland but promotes itself as being international in outlook.

As part of its activities, the group holds annual awards competitions to recognise achievement across a range of subjects: civil engineering, arts, literature, architecture and history & heritage.
A printed programme and supporting materials were produced for the Saltire Society Literary Awards 2014, which featured the requisite elements of the Society’s brand identity with a reinvigorated yet restrained application, married with accessible and considered typographic styling.
